11:51 a.m. - 2002-05-17 When we reached the harbour, The Monkey let go of my hand and went to sit on a rock. He puffed on his pipe and regarded the horizon, pensively. The wind whipped my hair as I clambered down to where part of the sea wall had collapsed into the sea, forming a little cave. I smiled as I found my old spot inside - a place at which I had spent so much time as a child and a teenager, talking with Leviathan. I felt its comfort spread outwards from my stomach through my body. The tide was in far enough to lap the soles of my feet as I watched a yacht bobbing out near Horse Island, and the seagulls circling and diving towards the gentle waves. I bent down to skim my fingers through the water. I felt safe. I felt connected. I felt Leviathan. *Welcome back* There was no real voice or sound, but I felt the words calmy entering my body from the sea; tingling my feet, then spiralling up inside me to rest in my head, leaving warm relief in their wake. A huge smile stretched across my face. "Leviathan." There was a movement off to my right. A pair of simian feet were dangling into view. I took hold of the legs that followed them and helped The Monkey down into the cave. He scrambled round to a spot behind me and made himself comfortable. *You have learned some important lessons on your Approach* "Yes." The Monkey tapped the back of my head with his pipe. I winced and twisted around so that I could eyeball him. "Yes, what?" he asked. "I was answering Leviathan. Can't you feel him?" The Monkey rolled his eyes at me. "Of course not" he muttered, irritated. *The Monkey has no connection with me. I am your Truth. Not his* I turned back towards the sea. I felt the old fog of confusion returning. "I.. don't understand." *Every person has an understanding of how things are, based on his own perception of the world. No two will perceive a thing in exactly the same way, even though there may be great similarities in their conclusion. Everyone must come to their own understanding. Your Approach has helped you reach yours* "But then.. if everyone has a different perception, what _is_ really true?" *What is true for you is true for you.* "And that's it? Then what about you? You are real." *I am true for you, Mister m0ok. I am your Subjective Truth. I am your way of making sense of certain aspects of the world* I was becoming angry. I felt cheated. All I had wanted was to know the truth and now even Leviathan had turned against me. The Monkey was mocking me all along. My pulse raced. I grabbed a handful of stones and threw them violently out towards the sea. "But The Monkey brought me here! He knew you existed! You must be real for him, too!" *No, mister m0ok. The Monkey has his own focus for making sense of his world. You are his Subjective Truth* I was stunned into silence. *Accept your Subjective Truths, mister m0ok. And accept them as Subjective Truths. Accept me as a way of helping you make sense of your world. Others will make sense of their own world* I leapt from my cave into the warm open sea.
